Press Release 2025
The Asheville Truffle Experience is gearing up for its annual plunge into deliciousness from Friday through Sunday, February 7th through 9th, with multiple mouth-watering sessions in beautiful downtown Asheville and environs. Guests will delve into the mystery of this ultra-prized ingredient, of which multiple species exist—traditionally hailing from the deep, dark woods of France, Italy and Spain, but also cultivated across the States, and even found lurking in some of our Appalachian forests.
The event will kick off on Friday the 7th, at 6:00 pm at The Market Place, whose chef-owner William Dissen has recently been nominated for Outstanding Chef in the country by the James Beard Foundation. A welcome session featuring mouth-watering truffled appetizers and celebratory beverages, and a chance to mingle and share stories with other truffle aficionados will get you started on your truffle path, if you’re not already well along the way.
Saturday the 8th will feature a tour of Warren Wilson College’s truffle orchard, beginning at 1:00 pm, and a chance to see truffle dog Eva (an Italian Lagotto Romagnolo) in action with her trainer Natalie Dechiara, of Wild Goods, while observing the various stages of an orchard which has just achieved productivity after long, eager years of watching and waiting.
Sunday will feature a hands-on session in cooking with truffles, with director Susi Gott Séguret, beginning at 11:00 am, exploring the best ingredients and techniques for capturing the truffle's unique aromas and bringing them to the palate. This will be followed by a truffled luncheon at a private residence in Montford.
Pricing is available for the entire weekend or à la carte. Visit www.ashevilletruffle.com for further details, or contact Susi Gott Séguret at 828-301-2792.
Note: At this point our welcome and closing sessions are almost at the max, so please reach out before registering. The Orchard visit can still accommodate more!
